You can’t lie on your resume

If it turns out that you lied, your resume gets labeled a “liar” in the internal database. And then the following happens. The average tenure of an HR person at a company is three years. Then he leaves to go somewhere else, and of course he takes the database with him. And so your resume with the label “liar” appears in many companies, and then you wonder why you, for example, cannot get an interview for a dream job, if you fit in perfectly.

You can’t express yourself in your resume

The more confusing it is, the more likely it is that we will miss something important and simply will not invite you for a meeting. You can’t describe your work experience in reverse order on your resume

A silly but common mistake. You start with your youth, and “at the bottom” you write your most recent work experience. Therefore, visually the most unnecessary experience comes out at the top – for example, that you worked as a secretary ten years ago, although now you are applying for the position of chief accountant. We can also be inattentive, not always watching what year is listed, and in indignation put aside the resume, not realizing that you are no longer a secretary and what a valuable specialist we have lost.

Don’t put your references’ phone numbers in the public domain

Respect the people who recommend you. At the same time, don’t underestimate your chances for the job. When they see your references’ phone numbers in the public domain, of course, many recruiters will want to call them and offer them a position. At best, your references will curse you because of the abundance of calls; at worst, they’ll be the ones who get the job of your dreams, not you.

Correct references in a resume, posted in the public domain on recruiting sites, look like this: a short quote, name and position of the recommendation (at the moment or when you worked together) and a line – contacts on demand. And then you think about who to give them and who does not need them.
